Verde' Maison is dedicated to every one who has loved and lost to cancer and to all of those survivors that continue to breath hope for tomorrow. - Verde' Maison OUR STORY started in 2003 and only 9 months after my father passed away. horrified from my fathers death, I still had not come up for air when I got the news of my mother breast cancer. As a graduate in Landscape Architecture from the School of Architecture & Environmental Design at ASU, I wished I was a doctor instead of a designer as I felt the shadow of cancer cast its presence over my family. My mother never smoked, nor drank and already ate whole foods and there was no hereditary cancer in my family. After receiving the news of my mothers diagnoses I spent my nights searching the internet for a miracle cure. Any news I could use to save my mother from this "pink death epidemic " called breast cancer. That night I ran across a report that had just been published by a British Researcher named Darbre. His finding revealed the "paraben " preservative in the majority of breast cancer tumor studied. |

Parabens are synthetic and man made anti microbial agents. Paraben patents begin recording in 1972 under methyl, ethyl, propyl parabens, hydroxy benzoate etc.. and where approved by the FDA as a food preservative after tests revealed what they believed was a reasonable amount of information. ( Tip - Remember one cannot patent nature or that which occurs without the interference of man / paraben is not organic ) Recently research has revealed that paraben preservatives currently used in hygiene products and absorbed into the tissue have been known to mimic estrogen and attach themselves to the estrogen receptors in female & male bodies adding to estrogen dominance. Estrogen dominance has been noted as a key contributor to cancer. After reviewing hygiene and makeup products I was horrified by the lack of organic products that were not paraben free. It was then my husband and I founded Verde' Maison (a Latin & French slang for green house) the first all natural & organic cosmetic, bath & skincare store in the USA specializing in international lines free of "Questionable Ingredients" - parabens, propylene glycols, petrolatum, & sls's. It has been 3 years since my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and her breast cancer has not returned. While she had one breast removed & 11 lymph nodes taken, my mother opted to refuse chemo, radiation, and estrogen blockers like tomoxofin. Instead she has maintain her health by opting for paraben free products and increasing her progesterone levels with bio identical progesterone hormone replacement to avoid estrogen dominance. Please understand this is the story of our experience and the evolution of Verde' Maison and one should always consult their physician for their own medical or health issues.
